September 2004
Online News - International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE)

IAVENews serves as a news and information source for civil society organizations interested in volunteerism worldwide.

IAVENews.org is a service by IAVE (International Association for Volunteer Effort) in collaboration with International Communications Volunteers (ICVolunteers) and MCART Association (MCART). The purpose of this site is to serve as a news and information source for civil society organizations interested in the work of volunteers and in volunteerism worldwide.

The articles appearing on this site are written and edited by volunteers, then ultimately approved for publishing by IAVE. Many other individuals and organizations have also contributed to the news. Please see below for individual credits.

The International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) is an international non-governmental organization that promotes, celebrates, and strengthens volunteerism worldwide. IAVE has currently approximately 800 individual and organizational members in about 100 countries.

Federació Catalana de Voluntariat Social

The Federació Catalana de Voluntariat Social is born from the resolutions taken by people from the catalan social associative world at the meeting in Monells (Baix Empordà) in May 1986, as a response to the political events that, during 1985, compromised the governments to give support to volunteerism.

International Communications Volunteers (ICVolunteers) is a non-governmental organization that connects volunteers and organizers of non-profit projects, in particular social, humanitarian, environmental and scientific conferences. ICVolunteers has a network of about 1,500 volunteers. In 2003, it has worked with volunteers from over 60 countries. The NGO promotes volunteerism and its recognition.

MCART group

The MCART Association is a non-profit organization that exists to develop projects which enhance the sharing of information and good practices, both locally and globally. MCART works with projects and conferences of a social, humanitarian scientific and environmental nature to help them communicate their results in a way they can afford.

The News Team

IAVENews.org is based on Conference Reports, a cross-sector partnership that directly involves volunteers in carrying results around the world. For more information how this service works, please see www.conference-reports.org.
